2004 LOSE-A-TON / WIN-A-TON CONTEST WINNERS

Congratulations to the 2004 “Sisters Slimming Down” Team, with Captain: Alicia McDonald, for losing a total of 100 pounds and each person meeting their goal to win the grand prize of $2,000!! The grand prize was presented to them on December 9th at the Diabetes Management Dinner and Program, hosted by the Orrville YMCA at 6pm. Dr. Naumoff introduced the speakers: Dr. Kevin Wietecha was the keynote speaker, Deb Steidl was the dietitian, and Deb Martin was the fitness specialist. Thank you all for being a part of this community activity and hopefully we will do it again next year.

Here are some stats of interest:

• Initially 25 teams entered the contest which totaled 222 people.
• 22 teams completed the program which consisted of 195 people.
• The Net weight loss of all 195 people was 1,012.3 pounds; an average loss of 5.2 pounds per
  person, which was the overall goal for the contest.
• The team that lost the most weight was Fat to Fitness with a total loss of 103 pounds and second
  most was Sisters Slimming Down, with a total loss of 100 pounds, WOW!
• 7 teams out of 22 teams met the goal and were in the running for the grand prize drawing:
  Dairy Dieters, Trinity Trimmers, Fat To Fitness, Melting Away, The Wayne Wonders, Sisters Slimming Down, and Curt ’s Sexy Six.
